You can work for the school system. Often blind/deaf schools hire their own health educator. You could work for the school board in your region. Also, there are often state or district jobs where you work at health centers, clinics, etc. Perhaps you could take a few extra courses in something that allows you to branch out a little more? Such as business? The more versatility you try for now, the more options you can open yourself up for later.

If you really pursue it, you can work for the government, for example, at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). You can get jobs at the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and other agencies like these. There are many different areas that health educators can work in that doesn’t involve being a teacher in a school. A masters degree would be advisable, but with your bachelors, you can take the CHES exam and become a Certified Health Education Specialist. The better qualified you are, the better job and pay you would get. A well-qualified health education can make on average $50,000 yearly. Some areas that interest me are HIV AIDS, cancer, diabetes, stress, health literacy, and nutrition. Health educators can also develop worksite health promotion and wellness centers at job sites. They get paid very well too.
Remember that a health educator deals more with prevention rather than cure. You have to have a genuine passion for helping others, and you should go far!
